Cookies

For the proper functioning of a website, it is often necessary to use a certain type of file called a cookie.

Cookies are small files, under 4 KB, saved on the browsing device (desktop PC, laptop, smartphone, or tablet). Their purpose is to store information about the user of the respective website or server. This information can be accessed, similarly to storage, either by the website user or by the server. In this way, the server can provide a tailored experience to the user.

A few examples of using a cookie:

  • Remembering the user's authentication session by checking the Remember log in details box
  • Serving a customized interface by selecting a certain color palette of the website

By default, most web browsers have the cookie acceptance option enabled, with the possibility to disable this feature.

Also, any user can view the cookies stored on the browsing device, or delete them.

The origin of a cookie can be directly from the web server of the website in question or from external sources. For example, by using certain external services (web traffic analysis libraries) certain cookies, which are not the direct object of the website in question, can be accepted by the user's browsing device.

Cookies also have a validity period set; after its expiration, the cookies in question are automatically destroyed.

Cookies used by us

  • Cookies essential for the website's operation: session cookie;
  • Traffic measurement cookies, through the use of the Google Analytics service

As a website user, you have the option to accept only a part of these cookies by clicking the Change settings button in the cookie usage warning window. We mention that certain cookies cannot be disabled, in order to ensure the proper functioning of the website. In the event that you want your browsing device not to store any cookies from our website, you have the option to disable cookie acceptance globally from the web browser settings.

Internal statistics (no cookies)

To see which pages are visited and how the website is used, we record the following events on our own server, without cookies and without any external service: the pages viewed, clicks on phone numbers, e-mail addresses, social networks, navigation links and the quote and contact buttons (with the area of the page the link is in), files downloaded, videos started, forms sent (only the kind of form, not its content), searches on the site and requests for addresses that do not exist (the 404 error), and, where the shop is open, products put in the cart and the order steps opened.

Each event has a date and time and the visitor's IP address, used so that a visitor is not counted more than once within 30 minutes and to tell ordinary visitors from robots. The IP address is kept for 30 days and is then replaced by a hash code derived from it (a string of characters), which cannot be decrypted. The code is deleted 12 months after the event; the remaining events, without any visitor data, cannot be linked to a person and are deleted automatically after 24 months. Robots and the site administrators are not counted.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how the website is used and improving it (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
